The deadline for entries has now passed.
The nomination process will be led by a research team from the Private Equity Institute at the London Business School. The LBS team will then present their findings to a panel of judges, which will choose overall winners for each category.
All information will be treated confidentially.
What qualifies for the awards?
- Deals: All private equity transactions where the target business is headquartered in the UK, or deals which were led by a BVCA member firm on business with a significant UK presence.
- Advisers and debt providers:. This will be judged on services to the UK private equity industry in 2006
- Funds: All fundraisings by BVCA member firms, completed in 2006.
- The calendar year of 2006

The deadline for completed questionnaires is strictly 29th January. No entries will be taken after this date.
What happens next?
The LBS teams will assess all entries and may follow up with further inquiries to the entrant. It will then submit final recommendations to the judging panel.
The Judges will meet at the BVCA headquarters in early March to decide overall winners for each category.
The shortlist will be announced on March 8th.
Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony and Dinner on April 26, 2007 held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London W1.
Rules Winners may state in advertising/promotional material and on their stationery that they are winners of the Real Deals/BVCA Private Equity Awards, but this must include the category and the year in which the award was won.
